Yes, I know this is an old video, and yes I’ve only now come across it, but the content of the video still applies, and I couldn’t agree more with it! Watch it, and you’ll see it’s not what you expected it to be.
More than three years later on, we still have the same exact problem. I wonder why that is? Is it because people seem to be content with just another Call of Duty or Elder Scrolls?
And even though I love both of those franchises, this video makes so much sense, and there’s so much that could be done to give non-gamers a chance to get into gaming.
It certainly does look like I dropped off of Earth for a bit there again! But fear not, still around, still kicking and most importantly still looking for a job. But I digress, let’s talk about Star Wars The Old Republic, and the two things that annoy me the most about it!
I’ve played TOR for a while already, have three characters of various levels on Bao-Dur (give me a shout if you want to do a heroic), and overall I’m enjoying it a lot, but there are two pet peeves which sound very silly, but they wouldn’t be pet peeves if they didn’t.
As you can see in the above screenshot, my character, a Sith Lord is waving goodbye in a friendly manner to an invisible shuttle pilot who just dropped me off after using the Quick Travel ability.
I’m a Sith Lord, I don’t wave! If anything, I shake my fist in a menacing way!
On to the second thing! Health & Safety gone mad. The text in red in the above screenshot reads: “Mounts are not allowed here. You’ll be dismounted if you don’t turn around.” Again, I’m a Sith Lord, I don’t care much for safety!
Instead of dismounting me while I use my speeder indoors, why don’t you install some railings aboard the space stations and high platforms on planets, so that people don’t randomly fall off them to their death!
Those would be my two pet peeves in TOR, and having ranted about them I’d now like to finish up with something that I enjoy doing a lot in TOR. Playing my bounty hunter and doing the Shoryuken Rocket Jump! Here’s a short video I made of my bounty hunter doing just that.
For those of you who also play TOR, what are your thoughts on it so far? Any pet peeves, or awesome things to share? And for those of you who don’t play it, it’s well worth it, even if you don’t play well with others (you can more or less solo the entire storyline).
I hope you’ve all had excellent Christmas holidays so far, and for those of you who’s holidays aren’t over yet, will continue having excellent holidays! Just thought I’d do a quick update on my holidays. First up, the train locomotive I built with my sisters. Awesome stuff!
There was of course lots of food and cookies, and of course presents, but that’s quite the usual stuff. Less usual though is that I decided to learn how to knit over the Christmas break. Been meaning to do this for a while now, and finally had some time.
I’ll say, not too bad for my first try! But anyway, I hope you’ve all had great days recently and will continue having them. Till next time.
